We are seeking to hire a First Year Associate or Junior Associate who is admitted to practice law in New York State or is planning to take the New York bar. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, research and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, a strong, positive presence, and a commitment to fighting for social and economic justice. Applicants with experience or demonstrated interest in class action, consumer protection, employment, and/or civil rights litigation are preferred.

Responsibilities will be substantial and will cover all phases of litigation, with the associate expected to immediately assume important roles in ongoing cases. Specifically, associates are expected to conduct legal research; draft legal documents (including pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, mediation statements, discovery demands and responses, and settlement agreements); interact with clients; and assist with and participate in trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings and conferences. Our associates are expected to learn quickly from our more experienced attorneys and are given as much responsibility as they can handle, which may include taking and defending depositions, arguing motions in court, and engaging in settlement negotiations. We provide a supportive and collaborative working environment, with partners, counsel, and experienced associates who are committed to cultivating and empowering junior attorneys.

We offer a competitive starting salary, an additional annual performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits plan that includes subsidized medical premiums and a matching 401k program. In addition, we offer paid vacation, sick, and holiday time.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit your resume, cover letter, and writing sample for consideration.

All submissions will be held in strict confidence.
